Oh, sorry, when you said Ric and Terri I read it as 'Ric and his wife/girlfriend Terri'. Terri O'Connor I know and love from Laurelton lol. Yeah Frisco did mention she got a record deal in LA

Not to mention DM was a horrible actress. My mom could not stand her wondering how she even got picked to be on the show, I do think DM took acting lessons somewhere after GH and her movies because her acting improved over the years. On GH, I don't even think she was acting, just reciting lines in front of the camera.
RB seemed to have already had the acting lessons before GH to the point to where her scenes were at least believable.
BTW, it's Terry, not Terri.

I love Demi Moore but Jackie Templeton was a boring character lol. Jackie was probably supposed to interview Miss Star Eyes and leave, but was kept on because, Demi Moore lol. I was glad DM didn't accept RC's invitation to return for the anniversary, he probably would have had Jackie still holding a grudge on Robert for dumping her for Holly. There's just nowhere to go with the character

Janine Turner, as Laura Templeton, also improved after GH.

I was sad when Laura Templeton (my preferred Laura) left. She was in love with Scotty and I always hoped Janine Turner would return. There's more they could do with that character as opposed to Jackie

It took a long time to get there. Terri's first year or so on the show was horrible. She overplayed an overwritten role as a super-obnoxious East Coast brat. She was like Maxie on steroids. It came as a huge shock when, seemingly out of nowhere she became a small Southern town country girl with a secret. After D.L.'s death her role took a 180 and they made her way more sympathetic.
I've never met the woman, but from what I understand she's quite a few fries short of a happy meal. Nice and friendly with fans but definitely deep in Margot Kidder/Sean Young land.

I think the disconnect was that DL Brock was never really connected to Laurelton.
There was some pretty good foreshadowing once they decided on the Laurelton plot. Terri had mental issues and Buzz started hypnotizing her. Terri and Patrick took a trip to Laurelton, Kevin's arrival in Port Charles started triggering vague memories. Once the first murder occurred at the Brownstone it wasn't really out of nowhere.
And yes I also get a Margo Kidder vibe from her lol. I loved her sister's show It's A Living. The restaurant cook on that show was actually on GH during the Brock murder mystery, he played the supervisor at the garbage dump where Robert and Holly found Ginny's plaque lol
