I guess I’m the only one who doesn’t care that he’s dead, and am in fact hoping he is. I wasn’t watching when he was originally on GH, so I have no nostalgia towards him. The moment he asked Sonny to work with him I lost interest.
I don’t think a hospital can legally or ethically fake a patient’s death. If his death was faked in a hospital by medical staff, I say that’s BS.
Maybe the actor only wanted to return for a short time?
The upside could be that we’ll hear less of Joss whining about Oscar now that Trina’s dad died. Also, we can hope that Jordan will be killed off, too.
Kathy, it is too bad that you missed Taggart in his first go-around. He was the one and only cop and one of the few people who didn't take any **** from Sonny or Jason.
And he was a friend to virtually everyone else in Port Charles. I don't think he is dead, his supposed "death"was too anticlimactic, even for this show. And for a legacy character to die off screen would be incredibly lame. If it was real, they would have made a bigger deal of it.
I think it's like this. Every cast member loves Maurice Benard and loves working with him. Everyone speaks highly of him in all the interviews they give. I'm sure even Steve Burton returned to the show just to still get to work with him. In one of Sarah Brown's returns, she had even said how great it was going to be to get to work with MB again (though that was many years ago).
So the writers probably like him as well not realizing they need to keep the actor and his character separate.
Just because everyone likes MB in real life doesn't mean they should like his character on the show as well.
All the above also applies to Maura West and they surely don't make everyone on the show befriend her character.
Realistically, what a TV show or movie has a character whose universally beloved for no reason the reason for this is usually that the actor portrayed the character demands that it be so.
1 actor who is notorious for demanding that his character always be heroic and beloved by every other characterwas Steve McQueen who was well known for being impossible to work with.
The writers suck. I can't believe they brought Taggert back just to kill him off a few episodes later. He was one of the few characters I actually like.
And Laura? Really surprised at her going toe to toe with Cyrus Renault... but I think she pulled it off. Throwing him in solitary and without communication? Wow, ballsy. It's the first time I've ever liked Laura as mayor!
Oh, I couldn't disagree more. That scene was just painful to watch. I can't stand Genie Francis' over-the-top contorted facial expressions. Does she have any idea how ridiculous she looks? She cannot pull off the tough mayor act. Her "acting" is cringe-worthy.

I imagine something similar is happening with GH.
ha I just in the past few years got to watch his Wanted Dead Or Alive Western TV series and started liking him a lot just from that show.
I'm wondering how that fanship is going to transfer into his movies when I finally get to see some of them on TV.
Thanks everyone for all your support I appreciate you all it was a great run and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity 💜💜💜

Although I appreciate your support more than you know I am great Gods got me 😂
It’s Diamond I am worried about when she heard the news about her Daddy being dead she went into a depression so pray for her please.
It has been a honor and privilege working with Maurice, Steve, Sidney, Brianna, Donnell, Rebecca, Roger, Max and Genie . ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you to Frank , the Producers and Writers for the opportunity. Thanks to Mark Teschner for always believing in me and thanks to all the crew and Staff for making my stay and amazing one
Steve McQueen? Oh, he's an action movie legend. McQueen actually invented the entire genre of the tough badass cop who plays by his own rules in the movie Bullitt.
This character would be often imitated by characters like Dirty Harry, Sylvester Stallone's Cobra, Bruce Willis as John Mc lane in Die Hard even Eddie Murphy to an extent in Beverly Hills Cop is just a humorous version of this trope.

I know it's a different genre and everything but if you remember, after Loki died in Infinity War, Tom Hiddleston took to Twitter and posted thanks to all the fans who I love the character and how great it was to be in the Marvel Universe blah blah blah blah blah... All clearly intended to suggest that he would never play Loki ever again and of course, Loki's back in Avengers Endgame and he has a Disney+ limited series coming out next year.
if the goal is to make us think Taggert is dead only to bring him back and surprise us all that he still alive in a few weeks then he could just be playing the game just like Tom Hiddleston was.

Growing up, I saw movies of him at the movie theater like Bullit, The Getaway and Towering Inferno but I never saw him then as I did in Wanted Dead Or Alive. I think with TV series, we see a lot more of them that we kind of feel like we get to know their character more.
I caught the series from the middle toward the end, where he already added some form of country type accent to his character to where when the beginning episodes began rerunning, I notice he talked in his normal voice having not added the accent yet. I like him better with the country type accent.
Also I never knew the pilot episode of Wanted Dead Or Alive was actually on a TV series called Trackdown which was recently reran in syndication. He was still Josh Randall but didn't have the accent added to the character yet so it just seemed like him playing himself in a western setting.
Weird though, a few months later, he played in another episode of Trackdown as twin brothers and neither one of them was Josh Randall yet that Fall, they made his previous character into the TV series WDOA.

They run this show like the WWE. They bring in fan favorites only to have Triple H bury them.

Yes, I don't want to suffer through watching Carly with that smug, arrogant look on her face, screeching "do you know who my husband is!"

If Taggert is faking his death, that means that the "authorities" are allowing Trina to be in on it. She may be 16 but 16 is still a child.

They can always gag her, in fact, both she and Sam should always be gagged in every eoiy.

No, Trina isn't in on it. If it's true, then the only people likely to be in on it are Taggeret, Jordan, Curtis and possibly Lucas.
