Discuss General Hospital

Okay so on the Monday May 9th episode, we learned that the full name of Esme's nanny is Maggie Fitzgerald and she lives in London. This information appeared on the outside of an envelope addressed to Esme in Port Charles.

Provided we see this character on screen later, who would you pick to play the part?

My choice would be Juliet Mills...yes, I know she is 80...a tip of the hat to her Nanny and the Professor role, possibly bringing a bit of camp with shades of her performance as Tabitha on Passions. Juliet Mills also played Joan Collins' cousin on Dynasty for a few episodes, and was the woman in England who had helped raised Amanda (Catherine Oxenberg).

I figure we will see Maggie show up to help Esme when Esme becomes pregnant with Nikolas' child.

It has to be someone likable, to help humanize Esme. What say you...?

Fran Drescher of The Nanny can do drama and come off far more menacing to Esme if needed. If she can fake an accent from the Bronx so well, she can probably do a British one as well ... although we see no sign of Esme having one.

I can see Esme idolizing and striving to be like a character like Fran.

Her co-star Charles S has done so well at proving he's far beyond his talents of their former TV series. I'm sure Fran could as well.

Fran would definitely need to apply herself to be quite different than her Nanny character but I think she could pull it off.

Drescher's from Queens and so is my sister and they talk similarly- my sis a bit less nasal. It's not fake.

FD has said she began with that voice then went to a speech coach to change it but would get more roles with the accent.

She would do an Irish accent, not British. Maggie Fitzgerald is an Irish name, even if she is currently living in England.

Same with Lucas Black and his distinctive country boy accent.

Talent scouts, etc told his mom he needed to lose the accent if he wanted more roles.

Directors/Producers like Shaun Cassidy (American Gothic), Billy Bob Thornton (Slingblade), Antonio Banderas (Crazy In Alabama), etc told his mom, don't change it because it's the sole reason why we chose him for the role.

I didn't watch today but just read a recap. So Spencer found pills along with the letters? Hopefully he palmed one and will have it analyzed.

Why would he need to have it analyzed when the prescription name & strength is all on the bottle?

When the pharmacist handed it to Esme last year, she was told she needed consultation to the medicine because it was such a strong dosage but she refused.

All the information should be on the pill bottle.

The label was removed by Esme.
