I thought the scene of them arriving in Massachusetts and immediately turning around was a little bit lame, too. I guess it's possible he knew that it would be snowy there, but living in Texas he had never experienced snow himself and he didn't know just how chillingly cold it would feel. Sometimes you have to experience something first hand to know you don't like it. However I still thought that was odd that they didn't even go check out the school. Also odd that Sheldon was so quick to put down MIT during The Big Bang Theory when it was his first choice as a teen.

As for Tam I forgot about him until you mentioned him. Several background characters who were frequently featured earlier in the series seem to be disappearing. I don't even know the last time we saw Brenda. I guess the writers want to give every minute to setting up the Mandy and Georgie spin off and Sheldon's life leading up to The Big Bang Theory.

I think they probably were going to check out the school, and Sheldon wasn't actually going to live there already. Otherwise, if contracts had already been signed etc, it likely would have been too late.

I haven't been watching the show all along, but since this was the last season I decided to take a look and see if they're going to have George die on-show or what.

And it's entirely possible that Sheldon decided to start making fun of MIT as a "trade school" just because of the snow thing, and he didn't want to admit the real reason because it made him look stupid for not checking the weather first, or something. Maybe he didn't want to admit that Howard went to his "dream" school while he hadn't been able to tough it out and do it.

Or it could be just another of those times when the writers have Sheldon do something just for the sake of the next joke, and the next time it comes up they write it the exact opposite for THAT joke.

I guess they decided that it didn't matter how great the school was, it wouldn't be worth it in all that snow.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the show ends and what possible Big Bang Theory fan service they'll throw our way. 😁

I truly hope George will not die during this series. I hope there will be a gap of time between the ending of Young Sheldon and when we meet Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory during which George dies. That is my prediction.

I think we "know" that George dies right when Sheldon goes to California, the only question is whether it will be portrayed on the show, or whether there will just be some kind of an announcement or something. Like at the end "Old Sheldon" does a voice-over "and my father died the next week."
