改编自深泽七郎的同名小说《楢山节考》，由木下惠介执导兼编剧。本片开始以歌舞会特有的开埸白揭开本片所根据的《姨舍》传说。日本古信州之某原始山村，由于食物匮乏，因此老人一到七十岁就要依传统习惯至樽山待死。

Carlos lives in a boarding school in the centre of Bogotá and longs to spend Christmas with his family.
