It starts with the rise of apemen and ends around the reign of like 17th or 18th French kings ( as a French-Canadian descended American I am partial to France and its history before 1763 when it lost Canada to the British).
But about the apemen-the movie goes on the premise that man is indeed from apes. The film also deals with Moses and the Commandments. See my postings on Moses and the truth of him.
But point is the film deals with science and the Bible. How accurate are both accounts in dealing with our ultimate origins? The Bible has massive advantage in being rather clearly witten. Is science invalid on this subject? Well, it is constantly changing. In 1981 Ramapithecus was dropped as a human ancestor and recognized as an orangutan tooth for one example. But what with DNA evidence showing a link to apes. Answer lays in soil having animal and animal DNA which can vindicate both the Biblical and scientific accounts of man's origins think about that. Did evolution for man take place quickly or over a long period of time? Is the Earth young or old? Is the Bible accurate in a young Earth or can the Bible actually be describing a very old Earth? Read book works by Gerald Schroeder. Plus, work online by one Jeff Zweerink to learn more on this subject! Zweerink wrote "Genesis One and the early Earth".
PS Let me add. The Bible has amazing scientific accuracy. See my postings.
