There's a heap of potential in this motion picture, but it is hampered by two major factors. It is too short to properly solidify the relations between the characters and the establishing of some smaller roles. And then of course, the censorship. Apparently there was quite the fuzz about it back in the day, and it was even protested against. SPOILER: Because of said censorship it makes it look like Barbara became pregnant of a kiss. I was personally a bit dumbfounded by everything because there was made such a big deal out of one kiss, and apparently that should lead to an operation.
To properly convey what this film aimed to do, I think it should've aimed for something between an hour and forty-five minutes to a full two hours. And boy could it have been great. There's some very good cinematography in here from time to time. Plus, it's hard to go wrong with Gable and Loy.
