Honestly, Duckie was always more of a GBF than potential boyfriend material to me, but I think Swanson was a good choice for him because Andi didn't see him as more than a friend.

You're absolutely right; he did seem like that. If he were, the coming of age love triangle wouldn't exist- which at the end finally paid off.
