In 1954, Thanh, an architect, returns to live in the family house he resided in before the war. He suggests that Quy, a comrade from his regiment and his wife, Hue, share the villa which is too big for just him. Cohabitation problems soon arise and challenge the friendship forged by the two men in a completely different context. As the days pass, the relation between Thanh and Hue is also strengthened, although they first reject the obvious feelings they have for each other. Between a ruined friendship and an ever more sincere love for Hue, Thanh seems always more torn.

Thanh, architecte, retourne en 1954 habiter la maison familiale qu’il occupait avant la guerre. Il propose à Quy, camarade de régiment et à sa femme Hue, de partager cette villa trop grande pour lui seul. Des problèmes de cohabitation ne tardent pas à survenir, mettant à l’épreuve une amitié liée dans un tout autre contexte entre les deux hommes. Au fil des jours, la relation de Thanh et Hue trouve aussi à se renforcer bien qu’ils repoussent d’abord l’évidence des sentiments qu’ils éprouvent l’un pour l’autre. Entre une amitié malmenée et un amour de plus en plus sincère pour Hue, Thanh paraît toujours plus déchiré.
