يعتبر جان سيناك، المولود في بني صاف بالجزائر عام 1926 وتوفي بالجزائر العاصمة عام 1973، اليوم أحد كبار الكتاب والشعراء الفرنسيين والوحيد من نوعه الذي رافق الثورة الجزائرية قبل نوفمبر 1954. جزء من كل المناقشات وانخرطوا، في وقت مبكر جدًا وبحماس هائل، في عمل ملتزم انتهى بشكل سيئ. شعره وميوله الجنسية وشعره الغنائي السياسي تعمل ضده: فقد رُفض من قبل "الأقدام السوداء" بقدر ما رفضه نشطاء جبهة التحرير الوطني ثم من قبل السلطة القائمة في الجزائر العاصمة، واغتيل جان سيناك عام 1973 في منزله بالجزائر العاصمة، في ظروف لم يسبق لها مثيل. وأوضح.

Jean Sénac, born in Béni Saf in Algeria in 1926 and died in Algiers in 1973, is today considered one of the great French writers and poets and the only one of his reputation to have accompanied the Algerian revolution before November 1954. part of all the debates and got involved, very early and with immense enthusiasm, in a work of commitment which ended badly. His poetry, his sexual preferences and his political lyricism work against him: rejected as much by the Pieds Noirs as by the FLN activists then by the power in place in Algiers, Jean Sénac was assassinated in 1973 at his home in Algiers, in circumstances never clarified.

Sa poésie, ses préférences sexuelles et son lyrisme politique jouent contre lui : rejeté tant par les Pieds Noirs que par les militants du FLN puis par le pouvoir en place à Alger, Jean Sénac est assassiné en 1973 à son domicile d'Alger, dans des circonstances jamais élucidées.
