Пенсионираният преподавател по музика Миша Бранков открива истината за своя произход при необикновени обстоятелства: метална кутия с документи е открита там, където по време на Втората световна война е имало концентрационен лагер за евреи.

影片主人公是一名退休的音乐教授，名叫米沙·布兰科夫，在不同寻常的情况下揭开了自己的身世秘密。在贝尔格莱德曾经矗立着纳粹集中营的一片废墟上，人们发现了一个装满文件的铁盒子。这是在1941年，一位名叫伊萨克·威斯的集中营犯人把它埋在地下的。教授得知威斯才是自己的真正父亲。他在离开之前，把孩子交给了布兰科夫一家抚养。盒子中还装着一本未完成的曲谱，曲名叫做《当天色破晓》，是伊萨克·威斯在集中营中创作的作品。教授决心完成父亲未尽的作品，并且在废墟上进行一次告慰亡灵的演奏。

The story of a retired music professor, Misha Brankov, who under unusual circumstances discovers his true origins. At the place where once stood a Nazi concentration camp for Jews during World War II, a metal box filled with documents is found. It was buried by an inmate Isaac Weiss in the year 1941. The professor finds out that his real parents, the Weiss's, gave him away to their friends, the Brankovs, just before they were taken into the camp. Inside the box there is an unfinished musical score, called "When day breaks", composed by the inmate Isaac Weiss. Searching for the truth about himself and his origins, Misha discovers the little-known truth about Judenlager Semlin camp, one of the worst Nazi execution sites in the heart of contemporary Belgrade. At the same time, the professor's obsession is to complete the composition, started by his father, and to perform it on the site of the former camp... which he, after many vicissitudes, finally succeeds.

Micha Brankov, un professeur de musique à la retraite est bouleversé de découvrir ses véritables origines : ses parents juifs l’avaient confié, à l’âge de deux ans, à une famille, avant de disparaître dans un camp de la mort. Le vieux professeur retrace l’histoire de ses parents et veut faire interpréter en leur hommage ‘’la partition inachevée’’ que son père avait composée.

'Al nacer el día' narra la historia de un profesor de música jubilado, Misha Brankov (interpretado por Mustafa Nadarevic), que descubre sus verdaderos orígenes en extrañas circunstancias. En el lugar donde se erigía un campo de concentración nazi, durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, localiza una caja de metal llena de documentos. Este objeto enterrado por un preso Isaac Weiss en el año 1941. Gracias a este descubrimiento, averiguará que sus verdaderos padres, los señores Weiss, le entregaron a sus amigos: la familia Brankov, justo antes de ser tomados presos por el régimen alemán. Dentro de la caja también hay una partitura musical inacabada, llamado 'Cuando amanece', compuesta por su propio padre. En la búsqueda de la verdad sobre sí mismo y sus orígenes, Misha descubrirá la verdad desconocida del campamento Judenlager Semlin, uno de los peores lugares de exterminio nazi en el corazón de Belgrado..
