Thurl Ravenscroft (1914-2005), the singer of this holiday classic's terrifically memorable song "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch", also provided, for half a century, the wonderful voice of animated Tony the Tiger of the Kellogg's Frosted Flakes commercials. (See this thread for more details.)
Until within just the last few years I believed Boris Karloff sang the Grinch song, as that's what I had at some point heard.
At any rate, thanks to Grinch, Mr. Ravenscroft's g-r-r-r-eat voice will live on forever.

An homage to this song, "You're a Mean One, Mr Finch" was sung by actor Kelsey Grammer in Season 3, Episode 10 of NBC's former sitcom, "Just Shoot Me". Dennis Finch was played by David Spade, who became Grinch-like after a misunderstanding with fellow office workers. See (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__lvMe9Cbo8)
