Discuss The Perils of Pauline

Very entertaining film about the early days of cinema, in glorious Technicolor. I wish movies still had unironic musical numbers in the middle of them.

When I first heard of the movie I thought it was the original silent movie serial with the actress Pearl White or just one of the other versions (1933 and 1967) with the same title starring other actresses. It turned out to be a film loosely based on the life of Pearl with Betty Hutton playing her. She acted well with her character presenting a mix of funny and dramatic moments. I also recognized her from the 1950 musical comedy "Annie Get Your Gun".
