I didn't much care for TDK. I was looking forward to it quite a bit, as I really liked Batman Begins. I thought the "realistic" take on Batman was cool thing, especially compared to the comically overdone Spiderman movies of that time.
Aside from Leath Ledger's Joker performance, though, I just felt the movie was silly from a plot point of view and really not that realistic. The Joker had way too many fantastic traps and sequences setup to be believable, and the whole framing Batman for Harvey Dent's death just made no sense. The plot seemed overly complex, and yet so many people thought it was the best movie ever made. I just don't get it.
I also thought some of the acting and dialogue was extremely cringe-worthy, like the opening bank-robbery scene where the two crooks in masks are talking back and forth about the Joker. And also the Police press scene in the middle of the movie was particularly painful.
Well, that's it for me crapping on this movie. I rated it a 6/10, because it was still a technically superior movie, but I disliked the plot and I thought it had too many holes, as well as a lot of the acting and dialogue for me to give it anything more. I tried to be as objective as I could. There's no way it deserves anything less.

Good point, I edited the post to reflect 6/10. Still getting used to this new rating system!

Ha, yeah was just kidding - out of 10 is the old money now 😃
Anyway, I agree re your rating. Been a long time since I watched this but just checked my old imdb imported rating and I had 3 stars (6/10) also.
I never really bought into the hype - the opening was good and the film was very nicely, stylishly shot if you like that sort of thing but I always preferred the Burton take rather than "Batman meets Heat".

Yes, I'm in complete agreement. When I Was younger this used to be one of my all time favorite movies. Over the years it has soured on me for many of the reason that you mention.
