挨打遭毆、闖破玻璃、摔落窗戶、上天下地、飛檐走壁、飛車爆破、竹林大戰，打到落花流水拚個你死我活，這一切都是功夫片的特色，深受全球觀眾歡迎的片種之一。香港是武打片的發祥地，港式武打片中奮不顧身的徒手搏擊，當然絕非膽小怯懦之輩招架得來。在電影的虛幻世界，武打替身演員或香港所謂的「紅褲子」泛指在影片中代替演員以防受傷的角色。 　　「紅褲子」這些電影業無名英雄，他們盡忠職守，把生命豁出去，一心把歡樂帶給世界各地數以百萬計的影迷；也全賴這些別具傳奇色彩的「紅褲子」，亦即早期的龍虎武師，為香港電影業創下備受尊崇的地位。成龍、洪金寶、董偉及徐寶華都是出名的「紅褲子」。 　　《紅褲子：香港特技打仔的生活》由動作演員仇雲波執導，他除了親自表演武打招式，也曾參與演出荷李活電影Mortal Kombat《格鬥之王》，飾演Liu Kang。節目將帶領觀眾回顧「紅褲子」的由來，並到訪培育武術班子的北京國劇學校。

A short action film interwoven into a documentary tells the story of the legendary unsung heroes of Hong Kong film, the stuntmen and women. This film features the world's most illustrious stuntmen, and many current working stuntmen, profiled through interviews and clips that showcase their work. It explores their death-defying feats and foolhardy working methods and traces their origin back to the original Hong Kong stuntmen known as "red trousers" - a term used to describe acrobats in Peking Opera. By incorporating the martial arts, fantasy, adventure short action film, "Lost Time," the viewer is given an actual account of how stunts are created and executed on film.

En la película se traza el origen y la personalidad de los especialistas, estos actores que arriesgan su vida en las cada vez más peligrosas escenas de acción, y que son denominados "Pantalones Rojos", término usado para llamar a los acróbatas de la Ópera de Pekín, que vestían pantalones de ese color y que fueron los primeros especialistas que se usaron en este tipo de producciones.
