I'm sure Sergio Leone and others were influenced by this scene, near the end of this movie, there is a scene in which James Cagney robs a gun shop with the exact gun and ammunition that the owner hands him for a demonstration.

Similar scenes are in The Good, The Bad and the Ugly and also The Terminator, I’m sure there are more movies with this con but those two spring to mind.
