Discuss Late Spring

There are not many film makers that can craft such a work of serene beauty as the master Ozu. With superb acting as well, the film lacks nothing. The scene where Noriko pleads with her father to allow their life to remain unchanged has got to be one of the most poignant moments in all film. A solid 10 in my world.

For sure! Just viewed this last night, and was very impressed. Ozu truly is the greatest Japanese director ever. Besides, I've long been a sucker for a good Father-Daughter relationship movie, and this did not disappoint. The scene you mentioned above was by far the best, and I even wrote down the daughter's most touching quote from that segment: "Being with you is enough for me."

I haven't seen this in a few years but I gave it an 8/10.
