惠花（陈德容 饰）和秀姑（刘小慧 饰）是打小一起长大的好友，情同姐妹。惠花自幼对异性有一种本能的恐惧，因此和秀姑之间的关系格外亲密，两人甚至在庙中举行了婚礼结为夫妻，秀姑只当这一切是小孩子过家家般的玩闹，却没想到惠花当了真。之后，秀姑嫁给了名为阿光（郭晋安 饰）的男子，惠花亦被迫成为了富翁的妻子，两人自此走上了不同的道路。随着时间的推移，秀姑和阿光之间的感情越来越好，而惠花则因无法忍受婚姻生活而提出了离婚。阿光想要带着秀姑离开家乡，惠花得知此消息伤心欲绝，甚至在绝望之中起了杀心，当她欲取秀姑性命之时才得知，秀姑的腹中已经有了阿光的骨肉。

Two teenage girls make a pledge to each other to be as "man and wife" in a small Chinese fishing town.
