I am not sure if this is an honest mistake someone made somewhere along the way (it's on IMDB and other places) or a joke that spread all over the internet, but Lyle Talbot's character in this film is named Ted Rand, not Ted Kord. It's even printed in a newspaper byline. Ted Kord is the secret identity of one of the versions of the superhero the Blue Beetle.

For the record, I believe the users who included the name in the entry did so in good faith. This goes back farther than TMDB.
