The ten year old Nisse suffers from acute asthma and is rushed to the hospital. There he meets Lelle who is a bitter, lonely and seriously ill twelve-year-old. Lelle, who never gets any visits treats Nisse kindly. Lelle inaugurates Nisse in his secret plan to build a giant Zeppelin and steal the food available in the hospital's underground reserves.

Tioårige Nisse drabbas av akut astma och förs i ilfart till sjukhuset. Där träffar han Lelle som inviger honom i sin hemliga plan. Nämligen att bygga en jättelik Zeppelinare och stjäla maten som finns i sjukhusets underjordiska beredskapslager. Maten skall han föra ut till behövande barn i andra länder. Allt hade gått bra om de vuxna inte hade lagt sig i.
