阿蒂姆（阿利·巴凯 Ali Barkai 饰）的父亲在战争之中死去了，十六岁的阿蒂姆拿着一把手枪，决定群寻找并且杀死自己的杀父仇人。怀揣着满心的仇恨，阿蒂姆来到了仇人纳萨拉（尤苏夫·约罗 Youssouf Djaoro 饰）所在的城市，此时的纳萨拉早已经成家立业，并且经营着自己的面包房，每天，他都会将卖剩下来的面包分给附近穷苦的孩子们，俨然一副老好人的模样。

Chad, 2006. After a forty-year civil war, the radio announces the government has just amnestied the war criminals. Outraged by the news, Gumar Abatcha orders his grandson Atim, a sixteen-year-old youth, to trace the man who killed his father and to execute him. Atim obeys him and, armed with his father's own gun, he goes in search of Nassara, the man who made him an orphan. It does not take long before he finds him. Nassara, who now goes straight, is married, goes to the mosque and owns a small bakery. After some hesitation Atim offers him his services as an apprentice. He is hired then it will be easy for him to gun down the murderer of his father. At least, that is what he thinks...

Il quindicenne Atim decide di trovare l'uomo che ha ucciso suo padre poco prima che egli nascesse. Giunto a N'djamena, la capitale del Ciad, si mette sulle tracce di Abdallah Nassara, l'assassino. L'uomo, ex criminale di guerra, è un sessantenne che conduce una vita rispettabile. È proprietario di un panificio e quando conosce Atim, di cui non sa nulla, lo prende sotto la sua ala protettrice e gli insegna a fare il pane. Il legame che si instaura tra i due diventa sempre più stretto al punto che Abdallah vorrebbe adottare il ragazzo...

열 여섯살인 아팀(Atim)은 아버지를 죽인 남자에게 복수하기 위해 수도로 간다. 그곳에서 아버지의 원수는 작은 빵 가게를 운영하며 조용히 살아가고 있다. 아팀은 빵 만드는 법을 배우러 온 것처럼 가장하며 계속해서 죽일 기회를 노리면서 그의 곁에 머문다. 하지만 아팀은 그에게서 자꾸 그가 꿈꿔왔던 아버지의 모습을 발견하게 되는데… (전주국제영화제)

Czad, rok 2006. Po czterdziestu latach wojny domowej rząd ogłasza amnestię dla zbrodniarzy wojennych, chcąc w ten sposób przywrócić pokój. Gumar Abatcha namawia swojego wnuka Akima, by znalazł i wymierzył karę człowiekowi, który zabił mu ojca. Tym człowiekiem jest Nassara - żonaty i bogobojny mężczyzna, właściciel małej piekarni.

Atim no conoció a su padre, ya que murió antes de que él naciera en la larga guerra del desierto del Chad. Lo crió su abuelo y ahora, cumplidos 15 años, el anciano le entrega una pistola y le señala el sitio donde vive el hombre que mató a su hijo. El asesino se llama Nassara, tiene una panadería y reparte pan gratuito a los niños del barrio. Acoge como aprendiz a Atim, enseñándole el oficio con paciencia y cariño infinitos, apreciando sus progresos. Ya no es el mismo que lo dejó sin padre y aún así el chico sigue cada día esperando el momento de la venganza.
