Its kinda weird how so many movies Ive been coming across recently that have Comedy as a locked genre...do I not understand what the Comedy genre is???
I kinda feel like directors/producers/advertisers/distributers or whoever just want to label movies "Comedic" (when theyre really not) probably just to make the movie seem more normal and palatable to the average person- basically to try and get more people who might otherwise think the movie is too weird for them to watch- who doesnt like a good laugh? But does that make a film a Comedy/should we label genres of movies simply based on how those people categorise their movies? Or should it be based on how unbiased (us viewers) perceive the genres of those movies to be?
