I just finished watching it and thoroughly enjoyed this movie. In fact, I got a little emotional knowing its over. Phantasm caused my first sleepless night back in '79-'80 when I was about 6 years old (I still remember thinking those arms were gonna grab me from the sides of my bed)...but could use a little clarification...

...when Reggie"dies" in that hospital bed..what does that represent? It really threw me for a loop, because it was semi-determined the Tall-Man was tricking him to think he was suffering from Dementia...only to prove (when he shoots the baddies) it WAS a trick....so why does he go back to that and "die"? Was it Reggie from THAT dimension dying? Freeing him to stay in the movie's universe where the Tall Man has taken over the world?
