Min-kyu is pas vrij uit de gevangenis. Hij werkt nu als electricien, die telefoonpalen repareert verspreid over Changshin-dong. Op een dag komt hij erachter dat er een indringer is in zijn teruggetrokken leven. Da-hye is begonnen met het plaatsen van posters met een foto van haar vermiste broer. Min-kyu begint ze stuk voor stuk te verwijderen. Da-hye hangt echter gewoon weer nieuwe posters op. Haar enige doel is het terugvinden van haar vermiste broer. Min-kyu en Da-hye worden door elkaars pijn en eenzaamheid aangetrokken, op zoek naar een manier om ieders pijn te verzachten.

Changshin-dong is mostly made up of shabby residential alleys. Kim Min-kyu climbs telephone poles scattered in the dismal neighborhood. Recently released from prison, he works as an electrician under the watchful eye of his probation officer. His only joy is carving the Namsan Tower out of soap bars, on those poles. He notices one day that there is an intruder in his private world. Someone has started posting missing person leaflets. Min-kyu begins to remove them one by one. But to his consternation, the stranger keeps replacing the ones he has removed. Da-hae's only goal in life is to find her missing brother. She lives hand-to-mouth but that is the least of her problems. She is also slowly losing her sight. Min-kyu and Da-hae find themselves drawn to one another by their pain and loneliness to somehow find a way to heal each other.

일명 '달동네'라고 불리는 창신동 주택가. 침침한 골목길 사이사이 듬성듬성 들어선 전봇대에 한 사내가 올라간다. 김민규. 출소 후 관찰관의 보호 아래 전기 수리 일을 하면 빛을 만들어 가는 남자. 그의 유일한 낙이라면 그만의 세계, 전봇대에 올라가 비누로 남산 타워 조각하기. 그러던 어느날 그만의 공간속에 누군가 침범해 들어왔다. 언제부턴가 전봇대에 붙기 시작한 누군가를 찾고 있는 내용의 작은 전단지, 민규는 고집스런 악취미로 그것을 뜯어내고 또 뜯어내지만, 그곳엔 민규보다 더한 고집으로 뜯어진 곳에 다시 붙이고 돌아서는 여자가 있다. 정다혜. 어렸을때 잃어버린 동생을 찾는 일 외에는 별다른 재미가 없는 여자. 그때 그때 돈을 벌어 쓰고 싶은 만큼 쓰면 그만이라는 제멋대로의 그녀. 하지만 퇴행성 시력 이상의 병을 앓고 있는 그녀는 조금씩 빛을 잃어가고 있다. 전단지를 사이에 두고 더딘 소통을 하던 그들. 민규는 전봇대 위 자신만의 세계로 다혜를 초대하고 그들의 서로의 같은 아픔을 발견한다.
