Discuss Killer of Sheep

So I just rewatched this in its entirety for the 2nd time since first seeing it around 1994. What a sad, gripping film. Burnett's films tend to feel more "real" than those of many of his contemporaries, and this is no exception: Documentary-like staging and naturalistic acting (actually, I think some of these cats just didn't care about acting) are what to expect here. Burnett's visual analogy of black Americans to sheep in a slaughterhouse (!) is no less jarring to me now than it was when the film was largely inaccessible. Hmm, as I've gotten older, I seem to realize just how crucial this particular film really is to the black experience. 8/10
