Tegenwoordig is Litouwen het land met sterke tradities van het katholicisme en de negatieve houding van de samenleving tegenover minderheden (homofobie). De tragikomedie is opgebouwd rond het lot van een jonge vrouw Anna, wier geheime licht uitgaat tijdens kerstavond en er ontstaat onmiddellijk een lawine van duistere gebeurtenissen die elk gezinslid met elkaar verbindt. De vraag - wat zou er gebeuren als... - blijft bestaan. Ze hadden de keuze om deze fatale reis te vermijden, MAAR dat betekent niet dat er niets is gebeurd.

Kūčių vakarienė – tai iš kartos į kartą perduodama tradicija. Ji turėtų suartinti tėvus ir vaikus. Ana ir Tomas atvažiuoja pas Tomo tėvus Nijolę ir Ričardą.
