Discuss Reality Bites

When I first saw this movie when I was about 14 or 15, I thought the characters talked like the coolest people in the world. I still love this movie, but when I watch it now as a 30-something, the dialogue is. So. Cringey.

TO ILLUSTRATE:

Troy Dyer: Hello, you've reached the winter of our discontent.

Troy Dyer: There's no point to any of this. It's just a random lottery of meaningless tragedy and a series of near escapes. So I take pleasure in the details. You know, a quarter-pounder with cheese, those are good. The sky about 10 minutes before it starts to rain. The moments where your laughter becomes a cackle, and I sit back and smoke my Camel Straights and I ride my own melt.

Troy Dyer: I have this planet of regret sitting on my shoulders.
