Denny Burke is finally about to graduate high school. Senior year has been one bad thing after another: a broken leg, a broken heart, and — worst of all — a broken home. With four of his closest friends, Denny goes on one last rock-climbing trip to prove he’s ready to start his adult life… On their trip the five teens receive a genetic boost beyond anything they’d ever imagined. Denny’s soon faced with the first big decision of his adult life: does he give up these powers and stay a normal teenager, or does he keep them…and graduate from the human race?

Denny Burke est enfin sur le point d'obtenir son diplôme d'études secondaires. La dernière année a été pour lui une suite ininterrompue de catastrophes : une jambe cassée, un cœur brisé, et - pire que tout - un foyer brisé. Avec quatre de ses amis les plus proches, Denny fait un dernier voyage pour se prouver qu'il est prêt à commencer sa vie d'adulte ... Durant leur voyage, les cinq adolescents reçoivent un coup de pouce génétique delà de tout ce qu'ils avaient jamais imaginé. Denny se trouve bientôt confronté à la première grande décision de sa vie d'adulte: abandonner ces pouvoirs et rester un adolescent normal, ou les conserver et devenir le prochain stade de l'évolution humaine.

Yine de tüm bunlara rağmen Deny yakın arkadaşları ile beraber dağ tırmanışına giderek ilginç ve maceralı bir olaya katılırlar.
