Anyone who is impressed by Timothée Chalamet's superb performance in Call Me by Your Name would do well to take a look at this slight but likeable film in which he portrays one of three students accompanying a young teacher on a road trip to an inter-schools' drama contest. His performance as a troubled teen is compelling throughout but, for a brief period late in the film, suddenly becomes extraordinary, culminating in a performance of a monologue from Death of a Salesman which is utterly commanding and steals the picture.
This actor is a major talent and one can only hope he makes wise career choices from here onwards.
