This is a very well staged murder mystery; the timings of movement throughout the fog-bound house riddled with secret passages are as precise as a ballet; and that helps keep the pace of it flowing along quite well. It needs to be, the dialogue is really quite poor and overall it's a waste of the talents of George Zucco and Lionel Atwill who don't really get much opportunity to get their teeth into the story at all.
