Marco, een Italiaanse ingenieur, komt van Milaan naar Santo Domingo, Haïti, om de bouw van een dam voort te zetten. De voorganger, Kluger, is spoorloos verdwenen en hij zou zijn plaats innemen. Als hij aankomt, wacht zijn vrouw Laura op hem - samen met hun gids Romero. Ze gaan naar de kleine, geïsoleerde junglehut waar Kluger verbleef voordat hij verdween. Santo Domingo, 1973. Un ingegnere italiano giunge da Milano per ispezionare i lavori di costruzione di una diga, dato che il suo predecessore è sparito senza lasciare traccia. A un certo punto il professionista e sua moglie Laura vengono coinvolti nei misteriosi riti voodoo che si praticano sull'isola.

Un ingeniero italiano viaja a Santo Domingo para inspeccionar los trabajos de construcción de una represa, dado que su predecesor ha desaparecido sin dejar rastro. En cierto momento, él y su esposa Laura se ven involucrados en los misteriosos ritos vudú que se practican en la isla y que están dirigidos por Balaga, un hechicero opuesto a la construcción de la obra.
