I am watching the film now, it is pretty good. According to Wiki, in the novel The Green Hat, homosexuality, drug use, and STDs are mentioned. Naturally the book was very controversial in its era.

Although this is one of my least fave Garbo or Gilbert films, I've watched it multiple times throughout the years for the appealing cast and attractive production. There's so much Garbo misery though.
