Discuss Jungle Cruise

The story is a mix of Pirates of Caribbean, The Mummy and bunch of other adventure movies, so the result is very familiar, yet still entertaining enough. The main point is that the purpose was to have a fun movie and they kinda succeeded.

Problem is that Dwayne Johnson is a complete miscast in this. I liked how Blunt is good enough actress to completely merge into her character and she does it very well, but Johnson is not. He is clearly out of his league here and he has very big problem shaking off his own image and what he did before. He is just Dwayne Johnson.

I think Disney wanted big name so much, and he is surely big name, but it was on account of believable character and he doesn't pass it. I would think someone else would do a better job. I just couldn't believe him in this role, and the way this character is written I just don't see him in it. I think someone like Hugh Jackman or even Chris Pratt would be a better fit. Not to mention tons of less famous actors working today that could have better chemistry with Blunt that was very good.

Just imo.

Emily Blunt isn't really all that complex either.

I would very much like to see, the reviews seem to be quite good

Not bad, just bad casting

This is quite a departure for director Jaume Serra also, previously known for work like House Of Wax and that flick with Liam Neeson trying to rescue a plane, He didn't hesitate to get Elisha Cuthbert out her shirt and into short shorts during the former's runtime. It'll be a pity if he doesn't get Emily Blunt to recreate her scenes in Charlie Wilson's War at some point during J. Cruise

Liam Neeson was good in the plane movie.

Overall a good movie
