Atka Natas is a secret agent from the oppressive regime of Liquidatzia. He visits his estranged wife Vera, a chemist who is involved with a group of exiles trying to smuggle their compatriots out of Liquidatzia. Almkvist, a local policeman and former lover of Vera's, contacts her while investigating the death of one of the refugees. Natas has a list of agents operating in the host country and wants to sell them to the Americans. However before he can do so, Vera tries to kill him, after an argument about getting her parents out of Liquidatzia.

Atka Natas est un agent secret du régime oppressif de Liquidatzia. Il rend visite à son ex-épouse Vera, une chimiste qui est impliquée dans un réseau d'exilés qui tentent de faire sortir leurs compatriotes de Liquidatzia. Almkvist, un policier local honnête et ancien amant de Vera enquête sur la mort de l'un des réfugiés. Natas a une liste d'agents opérant dans le pays qu'il tente de monnayer. Vera tente de le tuer avant qu'il ne puisse le faire et ce d'autant plus qu'il menace son plan d'évasion de ses parents.

Almkvist, un poliziotto locale ed ex amante di Vera, la contatta mentre indaga sulla morte di uno dei rifugiati. Natas ha una lista di agenti che operano nel Paese ospitante e vuole venderli agli americani. Tuttavia, prima che possa farlo, Vera cerca di ucciderlo, dopo una discussione per far uscire i suoi genitori da Liquidatzia.
