Discuss Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

April O'Neil black, WTF? Rat father gay in the last scene, WTF? And whole animation style quite odd and hardly any plot until the very end.

6/10 and I'm very generous, this really ain't for kids though, we watched most of the franchise with kids, this was kinda meh and even for adults meh

I liked the animation style, it's unusual and interesting. The story was ok, I liked the whole mutants family thing. However the ending was very childish and disappointing. Humans listened to April and somehow believed her, although they had no reason to, then they all agreed with her without any questions, which is not something that usually happens, and then decided to help with cringy display of solidarity. Seems too much of a stretch. The plot solution was weak and very childish, which makes the movie worse than it could've been. Also that whole Splinter with Scumbug storyline was super cringy and didn't help at all. Forgettable movie.

Yes I agree this bit was...unfunny and unnecessary.

But the animation was interesting, as you said, and I thought Jackie Chan was surprisingly good. His English has really improved and suited the character.

As for April O'Neil being black, I didn't mind that, especially as you consider it's set in NYC. And it was a nice change to have her "normal" looking. But it does seem like redheads are being marginalised; first Ariel in The Little Mermaid film and now April...who's next?!

Ariel, Mary Jane, April O' Neil, Alice (from "Hellboy"), the list goes on.
