On November 26, 1968, London's illustrious Royal Albert Hall was jammed to its gilded rafters with rock fans ready for the final concert of what many still consider the greatest band that ever played. That band, Cream, featured the legendary Eric Clapton (aka "Slowhand") on lead guitar, the great drummer Ginger Baker (also of the classic rock band Blind Faith), and lead singer-bassist Jack Bruce in a trio that made some of the most amazing rock songs of the Sixties.

'Fresh Cream' è stato il loro album d'esordio che fu pubblicato nel 1966. 'Disraeli Gears', del 1967, contiene l'inno "Sunshine of your Love". 'Wheels oF Fire' era un album doppio messo in commercio nel 1968 - un disco contenente registrazioni in studio e l'altro con versioni live estese di quattro canzoni -, una tendenza questa imitata poi dai "supergruppi" degli anni Settanta come i Led Zeppelin. ' Goodbye', che dava integrazione al tour d'addio articolato in 15 concerti, era l'album finale nominato in questo modo a tal proposito: Jack Bruce e Ginger Baker non cercarono mai di risolvere le divergenze evidenti già da prima che i Cream si formassero e, come risultato del loro conflitto perenne e di un programma di tournée snervante, i tre maestri musicisti decisero di intraprendere strade separate.
