一对情侣（张京生 & 吕丽萍 饰）为了钱财抢劫火车，致使一辆运送剧毒药品的罐装车毒气泄漏，最终烧穿了臭氧层。与此同时，正因病在家休息的男孩（张宁 饰）突然发现能够听懂好朋友大白猫的语言。大白猫告诉他这起严重的事故，如不及时加以制止，地球上的生物最终都将灭亡。然而大人们 为了金钱忙碌奔波，根本不会相信男孩和动物说的话。万般无奈之下，男孩只能和其他动物联合起来寻找污染源，以一己之力拯救全人类……本片荣获第十一届金鸡奖（1991年）特别奖。
