For the past ten years, the Théâtre Equestre Zingaro has been combining travelling cultures, in which it was born and proffer so much inspiration. Marked with the heritage of its imaginary ancestors, the Zingaro Tribe has little by little turned into a wandering people with ancestral cultures. With Chimère, the "Zingaros" are travelling back in time, guided by horses towards the shores of Hindu civilization, towards the desert plains of the Thar and the origins of a nomadic people.

Pour la mise en images de son dernier spectacle, qu'il a réalisé lui-même, Bartabas, le prince du théâtre équestre, semble avoir suivi au plus vrai ce précepte. Il n'y a de mouvement chez le cheval comme chez l'homme qui ne soit précédé d'une impulsion musicale. Les premières images cadrent serré les beaux visages enturbannés de ces musiciens du Rajasthan tout entier pris par leur chant envoûtant ; puis les pas de la danseuse comme les sabots de bêtes suivent bientôt, martelant la poussière rouge qui s'envole ...
