In 1938, at the height of the civil war, the musicians of the military band were very worried about their next concert. Agustín receives a letter from his girlfriend, who tells him about the difficulties he is going through with the rice harvest. She then decides to ask permission to go and help her, but as Lieutenant Urquiza refuses, she escapes. Two companions sent to bring him back, finally, stay with him. Also Sergeant Perez and several musicians who go looking for him stay with them.

1938. Hay una guerra civil, pero la banda está más preocupada por el concierto que debe dar dentro de unos días. Agustín recibe una carta de su novia Rosa, en apuros por la recogida de la cosecha de arroz. Pide permiso para ir a ayudarla, pero el teniente Urquiza se lo niega y decide escaparse. Dos compañeros le siguen para traérselo... y se quedan. Los siguen el sargento Pérez con varios músicos... y también se quedan. El concierto debe celebrarse, la carrera es contrarreloj, y el tiempo se acaba.
