Discuss The Living Dead Girl

I'd avoided this movie for ages thinking it was one of Rollin's cheesier efforts (he himself dismissed it as being his one-time foray into the zombie genre to please his producer), but wow it's actually a really intelligent & deep story.

2 girls, one is an "evil" zombie while the other is a normal "good" person. As the story progresses we see the zombie start to develop humanity while the human devolves into being a monster. Very cool concept with a lot of artistic moments that separate this from the standard gore flick. Although there are plenty of buckets o blood if that's what you came for.

If you're new to Rollin, this aint a bad place to start. It has everything he's famous/infamous for: blood, naked chicks, French castles and a surprisingly artistic approach to cinema. He strikes me as what Werner Herzog would've been like on a zero budget and having absolutely no shame to stoop to schlocky entertainment lol. Kudos to Kino/Redemption for remastering most of his catalog and keeping these overlooked gems alive.
