Discuss Mad Max 2

There are lots of fan theories about his true identity. One in particular was that Lord Humungus was actually the police chief a.k.a. Macafee. This makes more sense than him actually being Goose. The reason I am more inclined to go with the idea that Humungus is actually Macafee is this:

  1. The majority of the maurraders are rogue MFP. (This includes Roop and Charlie from MM1)
  2. We never knew what became of him and we clearly saw that Goose became a "crispy critter" at the hands of Johnny the Boy & Toe-Cutter.
  3. Both Macafee and Humungus are bald, muscular, and lead the police officers
  4. He seems to briefly recognize Max before using his service revolver to put a bullet into the rig's water radiator

While Humungus was played by a different actor rather than by Roger Ward I do believe they were in fact the same person albiet a different character. I'm also fairly certain one of the hostages was "Benno" from the first film. This of course just my opinion and I could be completely wrong.

Interesting theory

I think I may have read where Lord Humungus was supposed to be in fact Jim Goose but the idea was later dropped. I don't think that Macaffee and Lord Humungus were the same person. It's not outside the realm of possibility though. He seemed to briefly recognize Max before shooting the truck and he told Wez "We have all lost someone". That someone could have been Max after quitting the MFP. I don't know. It would have been a nice twist. I'm fairly certain that Roop and Charlie went rogue as two of the bad guys were wearing uniforms and drove a cruiser. Unless the uniform and car had been found/stolen earlier. Roop always seemed a bit unbalanced from the start imho.
