少女幸子（宫崎葵饰）和老师的师生恋绯闻被传得风风雨雨，相依为命的母亲稔子（Ryo饰）则自杀未遂。打击不断的生活令幸子无法承受，升入中学后，她不去上学，每天闲逛打发时间。她和依靠小偷小摸赚钱的少年隆夫、精神脆弱的中年人久蔵成为了朋友。隆夫离开后，幸子和好友夏子（苍井优饰）返回了学校。 　　不久后，她又差点被母亲的新欢德川强暴。谣言又起，幸子失望地离开学校。昔日的老师恋人现在发电所工作，幸子准备去他那里。然而在约定的小茶店里等了很久，他还是没有出现。灰心的幸子跟一个前来搭讪的男子离开茶店……

13-year-old Sachiko is about to encounter the most difficult moments in her young life. Her father abandons her and her mother attempts to commit suicide by slashing her wrist. Her teacher, whom she relies on heavily, leaves for northern Japan to take another job. Other students start to gossip about Sachiko and her former teacher. Sachiko then drops out of school and attempts to find herself.

Sachiko est une jeune écolière étrange et distante. Les autres l'évitent, et ça tombe bien parce Sachiko ne veut pas leur parler. Derrière son joli minois, la jeune fille cache des blessures profondes : son père est parti, et sa mère trop jeune a visiblement du mal à s'assumer : elle vient tout juste de tenter de se suicider. Des rumeurs courent également à l'école : la petite Sachiko aurait causé le départ du professeur Ogata. Auraient-ils eu une liaison ?

아버지 없이 호스티스인 어머니와 단둘이 살아가는 등교거부 여학생 사치코의 이야기다. 아버지의 가출, 어머니의 자살기도, 학교 친구들의 무관심, 어머니 애인의 강간미수 등 사치코의 십년여 생은 고통으로 얼룩져 있다. 초등학교 6학년 때 선생님과의 스캔들 역시 그녀를 따라다닌다

Sachiko vive com a mãe que já tentou suicídio e falhou, após o término com um namorado; o pai já havia abandonado as duas muito tempo antes. Com apenas 12 anos de idade a garota envolveu-se com um professor e o caso foi descoberto; ele fugiu para outra cidade e agora os dois trocam cartas. Agora com treze anos a estudante não consegue mais ir à escola e consegue fazer amizade apenas com pessoas excluídas da sociedade, talvez os únicos que conseguem compreende-la.
