Discuss Timeline

A wonderful time travel movie. It has action, drama, treachery and romance wrapped all up in one neat little package. The main characters travel back in time to 1357 France during the Hundred Years War, 55 years before the birth of Jeanne d'Arc, in search of Professor Edward Johnston. The ending is bittersweet and brings you full circle.

You're right, the story is absolutely great and the setting fantastic. The only problem was the lackluster production quality. It was as if they didn't even try to make the movie worthwhile. Have you read the source novel? It's extremely captivating and full of atmosphere. Sadly, you could hardly feel any of it in the final film.

This is one of the few exceptions where I'd like to see a remake. The plot could also suit a TV series, like the did with another Crichton story – Westworld.

I loved Timeline... Excellent action movie.. Interesting and very clever with the love story. Gerard Butler is my favourite actor too, so that's a bonus. relaxed

In Behind the scenes you can see how much fun they had filming it. slight_smile

I just saw this movie on tv. Great to see the boards aren't empty! But I have to be honest, I thought the movie stunk.

These are my thoughts, exactly.

I understand Crichton really pushed for this to be made, but ended up hating the finished product.
