SPOILERS.

Towards the end of the film, we see Malakai and his entourage get in a car explosion while doing a drive by. We see him getting taken into police custody, presumably, but what happened to the other people who were in the car with him?

Also, after Sara and Derek come back from the audition, they are just at the club dancing and partying with everybody else? Seems like a strange way to go. Does he even know that his longtime friend has been arrested again, and almost killed?

Lastly, how is Sara so cool with Chenille again after what happened previously? The last time they talked, she basically had accused Sara of being a white woman outsider coming into the neighborhood to steal away the good black men. I don't know if I could still be her friend after accusing me of that. I mean, it is a thing, and I know it from experience, but Nicky didn't seem to want Derek until after she saw him getting close with Sara.
