She played Edith Ann (1976, 1979, 1980, 1985, 1986, 1988) on the children TV show "Sesame Street (NET: 1969-1970, PBS: 1970-2016, HBO: 2016-)", Kay Carter-Shepley (1996-1998) on the CBS TV sitcom "Murphy Brown (1988-1998)", Deborah Fiderer (2002-2006) on the NBC TV show "The West Wing (1999-2006)", Putsy Hodge on the Showtime TV show "Web Therapy (2011-2015)", Lillie Mae on the ABC TV sitcom "Malibu Country (2012-2013)" and Frankie Bergstein on the Netflix web TV show "Grace and Frankie (2015-)".

I loved her on Laugh-In, as Ernestine and Edith Ann. Miss Tomlin(son) definitely was always my favourite on that show. "One ringie dingie, two ringie dingies."
To this day, when I answer the phone, I sometimes (when I already know who the caller is, and if feeling like giving other than a standard "Hello" response) reply, "You have reached the person to whom you are speaking."
