Biography

Carman was born in Fairfield, California and raised in San Antonio, Texas, the son of an Italian-American father and a Thai mother. Growing up as an Air Force brat allowed him to experience life in many cities across the country and the world.

He trained as an actor at TCU (Ft. Worth) and received his MFA from Rutgers. Carman arrived on the NYC theater scene via a production of 'Edward Hall's Rose Rage: Henry the 6th Parts 1, 2, 3' which transferred from Chicago, winning both the Bayfield and Joseph Jefferson Awards for his performance as Henry. His other New York theater credits include playing the Vicomte de Valvert opposite Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner in "Cyrano" on Broadway (and PBS), and a production of Elaine May's "Roger is Dead" opposite Marlo Thomas.
