Biography

Franklin DeWar (American Voice Actor) was born May 1, 1982 in Cincinnati Ohio. Lending his Rich Bass Voice to Regional and National Commercials via Radio, Television and Beyond he has given an Authoritative voice to Many National Companies, Small Businesses, and Independent Films. In 2014 Franklin Began Writing Directing and producing Regional and National Film.

How did it begin?

At the age of 9 Franklin DeWar's voice changed and so did his life. Back then that meant singing in the Bass section in church choir & dubbing a few training videos for a company he works at today. It also meant he could act like any ones dad keeping telemarketers at bay.

He continued using his voice for good in high school when he started singing with the May Festival Chorus and a group called SPEBSQSA, now known as the Barbershop Harmony society. He learned quickly that sound effects people. It changes there mood and in turn can change the course of their decisions. While pursuing a degree in Political Science at Morehead State University, Franklin immersed himself in the Music and Communications Departments. Classically trained at Morehead State University by Dr. Greg Detweiler, Dr. Ricky Little he developed is appreciation for classical vocal technique. During college, Franklin started a Barbershop quartet that performed throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. The only paid professional college quartet in the area at that time: The Golden Nights went on to win the Collegiate District Finals and represent the tri-state internationally in 2004. Dropping a line here and there at WMSU public radio made Franklin start to think about what he wanted to do when he graduated. After graduating from college with a degree in Political Science and a lot of vocal training he did what any other person would do.

He started working for the Post office. Ok, there was a little more than that. He knew as soon as he graduated that he liked to do voiceover work. While at college he reached out to some of the top voiceover artists in LA. With there help Frank built a studio in his home in 2008. Frank's Voice can be heard at many live events around the tri-state area. He also offers Voice Over Coaching through Zappa Studios LLC. Written By: Zappa Studios LLC
