American oil tycoon, billionaire. After the death of his father in 1911, he inherited 6 thousand dollars from him. In his youth, he was a professional poker player. In 1934 he founded the Hunt Oil Company. During the Second World War, he was an opponent of the alliance of the United States with the USSR, "openly called in the press for an armistice with Germany." Contributed to the political career of Joseph McCarthy. In 1948, the press declared him the richest man in the United States. Since the 1950s, Harold Hunt has been actively involved in US political life. He himself was ultra-rightist. He was a member of the John Birch Society.
