Richard Treat Williams (December 1, 1951 – June 12, 2023) was an American actor, author, and aviator. Williams' accolades include nominations for two Screen Actors Guild Awards, three Golden Globes, a Primetime Emmy, two Satellite Awards, and an Independent Spirit Award. He appeared in over 75 films and several television series. Williams' career included numerous stage roles. On June 12, 2023, Williams was involved in a motorcycle crash on Vermont Route 30, near Dorset. According to the Vermont State Police, a 2008 Honda Element in the southbound lane turned into the path of Williams' motorcycle in the northbound lane, who was unable to avoid colliding with it. Richard Treat Williams, genannt Treat Williams (* 1. Dezember 1951 in Rowayton, Connecticut) ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler und Kinderbuchautor. Williams absolvierte das Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster in Pennsylvania. In der College-Zeit spielte er im Fulton Repertory Theatre in Lancaster. Berühmt machte ihn 1979 die Rolle des „Berger“ in Miloš Formans Film Hair, die ihm eine Nominierung für den Golden Globe Award als Bester Nachwuchsdarsteller einbrachte. Von 2002 bis 2006 spielt er in der Fernsehserie Everwood den Arzt Andy Brown, wofür er u. a. für die Preise Golden Satellite Award, Screen Actors Guild Awards und Teen Choice Award nominiert wurde. 2012 stand er für Roger Corman's Science-Fiction-Komödie Attack of the 50-Foot Cheerleader vor der Kamera, welche er an der Seite von Miss Georgia Teen USA 2007 Jena Sims drehte. Weitere Rollen folgten, vor allem für das Fernsehen. Sein Schaffen umfasst mehr als 100 Produktionen. |
