We all love him here, but I'd like to know your opinion. What are say, the top 3 reasons , that that general public isn't head over heels in love with him in this role?

He hardly has any lines.
He doesn't show much range.
He's not given much to work with.
Watch JL, everyone has plenty of lines, Henry hardly speaks. A bunch of one liners.

I did see JL... I think I was relieved he had more screen time than the last 5 min of the film that the fact he had so fewer lines than the others didn't phase me as much as it should have.
I wonder what his acting future holds?

Snyder’s retelling of the the Superman tale was not as loved Christopher Reeves’ first two Superman movies when they came out. Instead we got a Superman movie too depressed, too angsty, dark and with a Jonathan Kent who would actually advise his son to let his classmates drown ?!
He is not Christopher Reeves.
There are now a lot of super hero characters in the movies and TV to choose from and cater to people’s preferences.
There is now a weird environment where some audiences find the need to choose camps between DC and Marvel, and bash one camp over another. HC and all the other actors, artists and people involved in these movies are just caught in the cross fire.
The DC universe has not given him the chance to shine as much as he did in the world of the Tudors.

I can't make it through is ep. of the Tudors, I can't stand JRM's face. lol

JRM is a great actor, if he’s sober. Boy, he has alcohol problems. I am hoping HC’s exposure to him would be a good lesson on why he should restrain the drinking sometimes?
I watched all the seasons of the Tudors, but when I re-watched it I skipped a lot of scenes to go directly to the parts HC was in. LOL! That’s what the fast forward button is for.

Growing up in the 70s and 80s, Superman was portrayed as laid back and happy. That's how I picture that character. I liked Christopher Reeve and even Brandon Routh. I never particularly liked Henry Cavill's portrayal. Too dark and unemotional. I was disappointed Routh didn't continue forward in the role.

I think Routh was too, because he said in an interview that he had in his mind that he had to uphold the Superman image, and he even turned down parts. I guess because they weren't in line with the image of Superman. He said he always held out hope for a sequel, but after many years, he was losing hope. He was even shocked when HC got the part in the reboot.

I like Henry as Superman, but I dislike the story. I blame the writers and the director.
